Max E. Chilcote, PhD

In July 2023, we changed our name from AACC (short for the American Association for Clinical Chemistry) to the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM). The following page was written prior to this rebranding and contains mentions of the association’s old name. It may contain other out-of-date information as well.

1975 Outstanding Contributions in Education

Max E. Chilcote will receive the 1975 AACC Award for Outstanding Efforts in Education and Training, sponsored by SmithKline Corp. This will be the fifth year that this award has been made.

Dr. Chilcote, a native of Minnesota, received his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Minnesota and his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. Most of his professional career was spent at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine, starting as Assistant Professor in 1948 and rising to Clinical Professor in Biochemistry in 1970.
