AACC Announces 2012 ‘Molecular Pathology: Principles in Clinical Practice’ Conference

WASHINGTON - The American Association for Clinical Chemistry (AACC) announces a two-day conference, Molecular Pathology: Principles in Clinical Practice, being held at the Chicago Marriott O’Hare Hotel on May 7-8, 2012.  The conference is presented in conjunction with the Association for Molecular Pathology.

Molecular-based laboratory tests continue to gain prominence in the clinical laboratory setting, and today’s laboratory professional must be able to understand, interpret and advise clinicians on molecular test results, and stay informed about new and emerging technologies and clinical applications.  The conference will focus on molecular pathology testing practices and their implementation in the clinical laboratory, including session titles such Pharmacogenomics; Next Generation Sequencing Technologies; Solid Tumors; Infectious Diseases; Hematopathology; and Inherited Diseases.  Each session will consist of presentations featuring experts in their respective fields.  The conference will also feature afternoon interactive sessions: a case study session on May 7, and a panel discussion on May 8 with Vince Stine, PhD, AACC’s Director of Government Affairs on Regulatory/Reimbursement/Management Issues: Update on Current Events.
